Italian aster

One of the most beautiful representatives of garden flowers is the Italian aster, also known as European or chamomile. This flower mainly grows in Italy, France, the Caucasus and Transcarpathia, as well as in some countries of Southeast Europe, Asia Minor and Western Siberia.

There are several varieties, the height of which ranges from 30 to 60 centimeters. A flowering bush of any variety is in the form of a half-ball. The inflorescences are quite large, their size reaches 5 centimeters in diameter. Each inflorescence has 10 to 15 baskets, so the plant seems very lush.

Aster italiana begins to bloom around mid-July. Incredibly beautiful flowers adorn the garden only until September, since the flowering period is about 60 days.

Successful cultivation of Italian asters requires a sunny spot, as well as dry lime or gravel soils with good drainage.

In leaving, the flower is completely unpretentious. It is enough to periodically moisten the soil with moderate watering, as well as loosen and remove weeds in a timely manner. It is recommended to apply complex fertilizers to the soil no more than three times during the summer period.

The color range of Italian aster varieties is quite wide: all shades of pink, blue and purple. When planting several varieties at once, your garden will look simply gorgeous thanks to the splendor of the bushes and the combination of different colors.

One of the advantages of this flower is the long-term freshness after cutting. So the Italian aster can delight for a long time not only in the garden, but also at home in a vase.
