European bather - the favorite flower of the trolls

European swimsuit is a meadow plant, a representative of the buttercup family. Unfortunately, it is not often found in nature, and on plots it is grown even less often. In some countries and regions, the European swimsuit is listed in the Red Book.

There is no general agreement as to why the plant is called "Trollius". Some believe that the name comes from the ancient Germanic "troll", which means "ball", due to the spherical shape of the flower. Others are sure that from the word "Trollblume" - "troll flower". There is a belief that on one of the bright June nights, on a full moon, trolls gather in one of the forest glades to brew a magic drink. It is prepared in gold bowls brought in advance. Everything is brewed, as in a real fairy tale, without fire. Before dawn, the head troll pours the resulting elixir into bottles. The trolls take them and leave, leaving the golden bowls in the clearing. The drink will last for a year, and then they will come together again. These bowls are found by people and are called bathers' flowers.

The European bather is a very moisture-loving plant, so you can find it along the banks of rivers, lakes, next to streams, in forest glades. It is found in places where the soil is always moist.

The height of the bush reaches 80 cm, but there are also smaller representatives. The flowering period begins in late May, early June and lasts 25-30 days. The European bather has bright yellow spherical flowers with a diameter of 5 cm on long thin legs. It is a melliferous plant. Poisonous. After contact with the swimsuit, wash your hands.
