Alpine forget-me-not

A lot of beautiful flowers can be grown at their summer cottage. Many lovers of beautiful plants prefer the Alpine forget-me-not, which blooms throughout May.

The height of this biennial flower reaches 20-40 centimeters. It is distinguished by erect, spreading stems with small flowers. Depending on the variety, the Alpine forget-me-not can be blue, pink, blue and white. The leaves of the plant are oval with a pointed tip.

In order for the flower to fully develop and bloom, you should choose areas located in partial shade. And during the period of intense flowering, watering the plant should be abundant. In sunny places, the plant will not be able to delight the owners with a beautiful flowering, so such a site should be avoided.

Alpine forget-me-not propagates by seeds. To obtain seedlings, seeds are planted in a greenhouse at the beginning of May, and they are moved to a permanent place only in the fall or at the beginning of the next spring. In this case, it is recommended to maintain a distance between plants of about 25 centimeters.

Seedlings can also be grown at home in a regular long flower box by sowing seeds at least 15 centimeters apart.

Having planted a plant in open ground, one should not forget about timely watering, since forget-me-not is very fond of moisture, without which flowering will be short-lived. A distinctive feature of this flower is its resistance to frost, so there is no need to cover it in winter.

As a rule, Alpine forget-me-not is used for decorative purposes: for decorating small lawns near ponds and fountains, and also planted along curbs.
