Elegant flowers dahlias funny guys

These bright flowers are known to many gardeners who love to decorate country and country gardens. These plants usually grow along curbs and paths, delighting everyone passing by with their perky look. Naturally, we are talking about annuals, which are popularly called dahlias funny guys.

In order to grow early and strong dahlia seedlings, in terms of planting, you need to focus on the last days of February. By this time, you need to prepare the seeds and potting mix. Dahlia seeds are known to be sold as flower mixes, so other unpredictable seeds can be caught in the bag. The soil for planting should include fertile garden soil, peat, washed sand in equal proportions. Seedlings sprout quickly, practically on the fifth day. And within a few weeks they can be cut into separate pots. By April-May, active growth begins and by the end of May, buds are laid. Once every 10 days throughout this time, funny guys need to water dahlias with a solution of some kind of liquid fertilizer.

When transplanting seedlings to a permanent place, you need to add a handful of humus, a little ash and a teaspoon of nitrophoska to each hole. As with all dahlias, the planting site should be as sunny as possible. When transplanting, extreme care must be taken so as not to damage the root system.

Saved one-year-old dahlia tubers can be planted in May directly into the ground, according to the instructions on the label. At the same time, the tubers are sprinkled with earth to the base of the sprouts, which significantly stimulates the formation of young new roots. This method of reproduction makes it possible for dahlias to switch to a new way of life and at the same time preserve their colors in subsequent offspring.

Last year, for the first time, I grew dahlias from seeds. Indeed, seedlings appeared on the 5th day. I planted the seedlings on a flower bed practically without deepening. They began to bloom in early June, flowering lasted until frost. Plants are good for everyone, but there is one big but ... The petals from the inflorescences crumble, you have to collect, otherwise spots remain on the leaves. I tried to preserve the formed nodules, but they dried up, although theoretically it would be possible.
