Hyacinths: planting and care

Among the first spring flowers, hyacinths are by no means the last. This flower is very beautiful, and blooms in nature since April. Hyacinth is a perennial plant with a short growing season (3 months). There are many shades of hyacinth, and the plant reaches 30 cm. To grow this plant, you need to know two points about hyacinths - planting and care.

Planting hyacinth in the ground is carried out in the fall. The soil in which the plant will be planted should not be knocked down and moisture permeable well. With soils that accumulate moisture, the bulb rots and disappears. Sometimes sand and peat are added to soften the soil.

The landing site should be sunny and free from drafts or strong winds. Fertilizers must be applied before planting in the ground. It is best to add a little humus, superphosphate (100 grams), potassium salt (100 grams).

Hyacinths are planted before the onset of cold weather, at an earth temperature of 10 degrees. The planting hole should be about 10 cm deep. After planting, it is necessary to mulch the soil with foliage to preserve the bulbs.

Caring for this flower is very simple. First of all, regular weeding is necessary, so that there is air access to the bulbs, and they do not rot. If the dry period comes, the plant should be watered. You can feed the plant during growth and flowering. For feeding, use the same fertilizers as for planting.

After the end of the growing season (June), the plant must be dug up. The bulbs are inspected for damage and disease, and then stored until the next planting. It is best to store bulbs at a temperature of 8 degrees in a dry place. Good luck with growing hyacinths and beautiful flowers.
