Grapes that are not afraid of frost - galahad

If you are not a resident of the tropics, then you are faced with the problem of freezing grapes. This plant was created to grow in warm regions. But, by crossing grape varieties, it was possible to create grapes - galahad. This variety has many features that will delight many gardeners.

I would like to start from the very end, namely, with frost resistance, which reaches -25 degrees. Withstanding these low temperatures will greatly facilitate the gardener's job of sheltering the vines for the winter. Also, the plant has good resistance to diseases and pests.

This grape variety is very early. In many regions, it ripens at the beginning of July, when the rest of the varieties do not think of ripening yet. The period of full maturation is about 100 days from the moment the buds open.

The plant takes root well and gives great growth. Prototypes for the year gave 2 meters of vine growth. It is necessary to cut the vine for fruiting by 6-8 eyes.

Although this grape variety has a lot of fruiting, the first harvest should be artificially limited, no matter what overload the vine. In years to come, with proper care, you will be able to harvest large yields.

The mass of a bunch of galahad can be up to 1100 grams. The berry of this variety is very large (up to 27 mm) and has a roundish-elongated shape. The weight of 1 berry can reach 12 grams. The fruits have a sugar content of up to 22%, and an acidity of 5-6 g / l. Accordingly, this variety is suitable both for food and for further processing. Good luck in growing Galahad grapes and a great harvest.

A wonderful and useful article! Thank you very much for such a review - I think it is on this grade that I will opt for it. I am still tempted by the seedless grape variety ... How do you advise?
