Indoor bamboo in water - an original decoration of the room

Indoor bamboo grows in water no worse than in the ground. However, not everyone knows how to take care of him in this case. If you just put bamboo in a jar of water, forgetting about it, it will be wrong.

So, if you decide to grow indoor bamboo in water, you need to know that the water must be changed every two weeks - stagnant, it will not bring any benefit to the plant. And since tap water does not contain all the necessary substances, you need to periodically feed the bamboo with mineral supplements. In addition, water cannot be poured without preliminary settling - no plant will like cold water, moreover, oversaturated with chlorine.

When growing home ornamental bamboo in the ground, it is advisable to take soil intended for dracaena plants or a mixture for indoor plants (home bamboo is not picky in this regard). Good drainage in the pot in the form of a layer of expanded clay is required. Top dressing is possible, but not required, bamboo feels great without it. Feed with fertilizers for dracaena about once every three months, not more often. Ornamental bamboo is transplanted in the spring, once a year. Water with well-settled water. The best water for any houseplants is melt water or rainwater. To obtain melt water, tap water is poured into a plastic bottle, placed in the freezer, taken out after about a day and thawed a little. Unfrozen water is drained (all harmful substances are collected in it), and frozen water is allowed to completely thaw and warm to room temperature. Plants are watered with this water.
