Heliopsis in the photo - a little sun

Seeing Heliopsis in the photo, you will understand that it is worth finding a place for him in your garden. It is a simple but bright yellow sunny flower that will delight you with its flowering throughout the summer, and even before frost, its second name Sunflower leaves no doubt how much it looks like the sun.

Heliopsis can be propagated by seeds, or by roots, which are divided either in autumn or spring. It is recommended to sow the seeds at a depth of 2 centimeters at the end of October and sprinkle them with leaves on top, however, having sown seeds in March, you will also see heliopsis blooms.

The plant reaches a meter in height, and sometimes it is even higher, about 160 centimeters. Over the years, the heliopsis bush grows, forming a huge cap of long-blooming flowers, the diameter of which can reach 15 centimeters. The plant loves the sun and water, so we must not forget to water them, but do not fill them - the soil should not be wet for a long time, but heliopsis is a very unpretentious plant. Flowers can be cut and they stand in a vase for a long time, without signs of wilting.

Before wintering, it is better to cut the plant, leaving about ten centimeters of the aboveground part, and sprinkle it with leaves.

Heliopsis in the photo demonstrates how tall it can be, so it is recommended to tie the bush with a rope so that the wind does not bend and scatter the stems on the sides. Heliopsis may not be terry or terry, and terry appears only in the second year of flowering. Faded inflorescences must be cut off in order to increase the flowering period.

Heliopsis looks good in a group planting, in a mixborder and all alone.
