A bunch of grapes Krasa beams can reach a mass of 1.2 kg. Below you can find information on the characteristics of the variety and planting characteristics.

Grapes Krasa beams

What is this grade

Variety grapes The beauty of the beams appeared from a random seedling that grew on the site of the famous author of the selection Vladimir Evgenievich Romanchukevich, who lives in the village of Balki. It didn't take long to think about the name. The parental pair was never found.

Characteristics and description

The beauty of the beams is a rare representative of dark-colored grapes. The variety belongs to the early ripening category. The ripening period is between 95-102 days. Ripe berries are harvested at the beginning of August. The vine, as well as the leaf plates, grows rapidly.

When planting bushes, it is very important to maintain a decent distance between the seedlings. Otherwise, the growing plantations will begin to block the fruits from the sun's rays.

Ripening of the vine is good. The variety is able to withstand frosts down to -22 ° C. The beauty of the beams belongs to the category of sun-loving varieties. The weight of each vine reaches 550-1200 g. The oval-shaped berries are rather large. Their weight is in the range of 14-20 g. The grapes are moderately distributed on clusters. A pleasant slightly sour aroma emanates from the berries. The aftertaste of the variety is quite tart.

The berries are colored in dark blue tones, from a distance it seems that they are almost black with a ruby tint. The crispy and juicy flesh is covered with a dense skin.

Note! External qualities and good transportability are considered significant advantages that allow you to grow a variety for the purpose of selling.

Productivity from a bush

Starting from the 4th year of life, 5-6 kg of the crop can be removed from each bush of the early ripening variety. Due to the dense skin, the berries are practically not damaged by wasps, which cannot completely bite through the fruit. The crop is able to persist for a long time on the bushes.

Advantages and disadvantages

The beauty of the beams belongs to the category of popular varieties among winegrowers. Such widespread recognition of the early maturing grape variety is explained by a large number of advantages, among which are:

  • attractive appearance of bunches;
  • the ability to withstand severe frosts (up to -22 degrees);
  • lack of predisposition to fungal diseases;
  • a high level of sugar concentration in the pulp of grapes;
  • the ability of bunches to maintain a presentation for a long period of time;
  • high productivity;
  • the ability to set bunches on each shoot, despite the presence of dormant and freezing buds;
  • with frostbite of the vine, fertility does not decrease;
  • early ripening period (you can harvest the crop in early August);
  • the ability to withstand temperature extremes.

Among the disadvantages of the Beauty of beams, it is worth highlighting:

  • a predisposition to powdery mildew;
  • crushing berries against the background of overloading the bush, which spoils the presentation;
  • the need for systematic pruning of the vine.

For which regions is it suitable

The Krasa beams variety can be grown on the territory of Krasnodar, Crimea and in the central regions of Russia.

When planting bushes in colder regions, it is worth taking care of the annual preparation of the grapes for the winter cold.

Growing features

Experts recommend planting the Krasa beams variety in regions that are characterized by warm winters. Given the active growth of the vine, it is worth choosing the most spacious place for planting, well-lit by the sun's rays.

It is important that the site is reliably protected from drafts. Do not plant bushes on wet or dry ground. Sandy soil is best. By planting cuttings on a hill, you can prevent rotting of the root system.

Step-by-step planting process

  1. In the selected place, planting holes are dug, the depth of which should reach 85-95 cm. It is very important to pre-clear the soil from weeds. The distance between the planting pits should be more than 300 cm.
  2. Seedlings are soaked in water 60 minutes before planting.
  3. The root system of the seedlings goes deeper into the planting holes. The resulting voids are filled with soil.
  4. The ground in the area of the trunk circle is compacted. The soil is abundantly moistened.

Note! It is advisable to carry out planting work in early April.

Care features

Grapes Krasa beams need regular pruning. It is important to systematically water the soil, make organic fertilizing and cover the bushes for the winter.

Do not forget about the need to install a support for the vine, which has a positive effect on the health of the grapes and the beauty of the bushes. Experts recommend inspecting the supports every 2-3 days, on which birds often begin to build nests. To prevent the invasion of pests on grapes, it is necessary to systematically spray the vine before the onset of the flowering period.

In order for the bushes to develop correctly, gardeners recommend systematically pruneallowing:

  • form bushes;
  • remove old vine;
  • cut off the dying vine.

Important! Given that the bunches are quite heavy, there may be only a couple of them on each vine.

The vine can be pruned not only in the fall but also in the spring months. It is best to carry out the procedure in the fall, which will make it possible to facilitate the laying and shelter of the vines for the winter. Pruning in the spring can kill plants, as the vines will find it difficult to survive the wound healing process at the beginning of sap flow.

Fall pruning is best done in mid-October after the foliage has completely fallen off. It is also worth paying attention to the temperature, which should not drop below -2 degrees. You can only prune the vine that has reached maturity.

Features of pruning and formation of grapes for the 2nd and subsequent years

The main stage of vine formation falls on 2 years. In the summer, it is important to very carefully handle the vine, which, due to its fragility, is prone to breaking off. At the end of June, it is necessary to slightly bend the shoot to the surface of the soil, which will make it possible to obtain vase-like outlines of future sleeves.

On the 3rd year, second order sleeves are formed. Lignified stumps are cut to avoid rotting. A year later, the formation of sleeves of the third order begins. Only by the 5th year after the planting of the bushes, the formation process begins to move into the final stage with 4th order sleeves. Replacement knots should be located from the lower outer area.

By the age of 5, the bush should consist of 8 vines (full-fledged) and 8 replacement knots, located on both sides of the bush, 4 pieces each. By the fifth year, the process of forming a fruit pair begins (a replacement knot and a vine that will be ready to harvest next year).

Pests and diseases

The beauty of the beams is susceptible to phylloxera, which can be eliminated by treating the bushes with drugs like Actellik.As a preventive measure against the invasion of pests, it is worth treating the bushes of grapes every month with carbon disulfide (400 cm³ per 1 m²).

Also, on the bushes of the Krasa beams variety, you can often find weevils. You can cope with pests using special traps, which are sold in any network of shops "Garden, vegetable garden".

It is very important to systematically inspect grapes for the appearance of hornets' nests, which should be disposed of as soon as possible.

To cope with the invasion of wasps, you should:

  1. destroy nearby hornets' nests;
  2. install sweet insect baits;
  3. systematically examine the supports for the bushes;
  4. use mesh bags for berries.

Even birds love to eat grapes, which is why it is important to install special nets on the shoots in a timely manner, allowing moisture and air to pass through.

Collection, storage and use of the crop

Harvesting must be done in dry weather. If grapes are harvested in the rain, the berries will not withstand long-term transportation. Unripe or overripe berries deteriorate quickly.

Having cut off the bunches from the vine, it is necessary to put them in a small flat box (10 kg) or in a basket, which was trimmed inside with a piece of fabric. The bunches are stacked in one row. At the same time, the legs are directed upward.

In the case when the harvested crop must be transported immediately, it is worth sorting it out, removing the damaged berries and packing the bunches. Wooden boxes filled with a small layer of sawdust are perfect as packing material. The bunches are stacked in layers. Each layer is sprinkled with sawdust. The top layers are covered with paper and the containers are covered with a lid.

If the grapes need to be preserved for a long time, then the boxes with the harvest are transferred to the basement, where the temperature reaches 0-2 degrees. At the same time, the air humidity level should be within 88-90%. For storage, grapes are best placed in wooden boxes filled with a layer of sawdust, the thickness of which reaches 4 cm.

Berries of the Krasa Beam variety are used for fresh consumption, for the preparation of raisins and wine.

Reviews

Below you can find the reviews of gardeners who are engaged in the cultivation of Krasa Balkov grapes.

Tamara Evgenievna, 38 years old, Saratov

  • For more than 5 years I have been growing grapes Krasa beams. I really like the harmonious taste of the berries. The flesh crunches pleasantly, while the skin is hardly noticeable. The mass of each berry, painted in dark tones, reaches 18-22 g. From each bush for the second year I collect 38-40 bunches. I am glad that the variety is not susceptible to peas and berry cracking. The shape of the grapes and the size of the bunches are similar to those of the Ataman variety.

Andrey Vladimirovich, 59 years old, Krasnodar

  • All my life I have been growing grapes. In recent years, I became interested in the Krasa beams variety. The main advantage of this grape is its unpretentiousness and high yield. I pick berries in early August. The grape skin is colored unevenly. The harmonious taste of berries and crisp flesh are pleasing. The sweet taste is favorably set off by the tart aftertaste.

Grapes Krasa beams belongs to the category of the best hybrid forms. Pleasant taste characteristics, unpretentiousness and lack of susceptibility to fungal diseases are considered a significant advantage of the variety. If desired, you can grow bushes even on an industrial scale.

Unfortunately, I have not grown this fruitful grape variety yet. In our region, winters are mild and grapes need not be covered. I think that the berries should not become smaller, the vine should be cut short, no more than five to seven eyes on the shoot.

Unfortunately, I also did not grow this grape variety, our winter is quite harsh, but we want it so badly, it is clear that the fruit is large, juicy, but we grow other species and do not despair!
