Planting an apple tree in spring will be more beneficial for the tree.

The most important moment in planting apple trees, perhaps, will be the solution of two questions: when the apple tree should be planted - in spring or autumn and the choice of a place that is optimal for planting a tree. In fact, these are important questions, if only for the reason that a tree sits not for a season or two, but for a long time, perhaps for a lifetime. For the normal growth and development of a tree, these issues are also of no small importance.

Planting seedlings on a completely flat place, where there is no drain for cold air, threatens small trees with frostbite or even death from exposure to return frosts in the spring. The best option for a site for planting apple trees is one where there are slopes. But at the same time, you need to consider your place of residence. If the winters in your area are harsh, the summer does not really indulge in warmth and sun, then the southern slopes are more suitable for disembarkation. And in the southern regions, where the warm winter is replaced by an excessively hot summer without precipitation, apple trees will feel more comfortable on the northern slopes. It is generally not recommended to plant apple trees in lowlands, where frosty cold air accumulates most and in places where groundwater is too close.

When is it better to plant an apple tree in spring or autumn? Planting an apple tree in the spring may be more useful for a tree - in winter a tree planted in spring will go well already strengthened, it will be easier for it to endure the winter cold. In the spring, however, such one-year-old apple trees are more resistant to the effects of recurrent frosts. Spring planting of apple trees is carried out in early May, autumn - in September.
