New grape varieties in Ukraine

Those who come to Crimea on vacation admire the abundance grapes - it is too tasty, but its varieties are visible and invisible. In June - July, only imported grapes from Central Asia, Greece or Turkey can be seen on the shelves. And Crimean grape varieties begin to ripen by the end of July.

Early ripening grapes

The first Crimean grapes are presented varieties very early, very early and early ripening.

Reddish

The most famous are:

  • Super extra. The grapes belong to the very early ripening variety. The bunches are large, reaching 1500 g, with large berries weighing up to 12 g, yellow in color with fleshy juicy pulp and harmonious taste. The grapes go on sale at the end of July;
  • Arcadia. Refers to a very early ripening period. The bunches are large, some specimens reach 2 kg. The berries are also large, ovoid, white and with a slight nutmeg aroma. Has a high transportability. Reaches full maturity in early August;
  • Laura or Flora. It is characterized by early ripening of berries. With good leaving and pollination, this variety forms large, medium density, conical bunches with large seeds, light green-white in color. Bunches reach 800 g, and under favorable weather conditions - up to 2 kg. It goes on sale in mid-August. Well suited for transportation.

Middle and late grape varieties

At the beginning of the third decade and at the end of August, early and medium grape varieties ripen, such as:

  • Leda. Refers to varieties of early middle ripening period. Bunches of conical shape reach 800 g. Berries are oval, large, white-yellow in color, with sweet fleshy juicy pulp;
  • Redness. Attributed to the universal seedless varieties. It is characterized by an average ripening period. It is most often used for the production of environmentally friendly dessert and table wines and fresh consumption. The bunches reach 800 g, the berries are oval, blue. Full ripening occurs in late August - early September;

Laura or Flora

  • Original. This grape variety is mid-late ripening. The weight of the bunches reaches 700 g. The berries are elongated, egg-shaped, white-pink in color, and pink in bright sunlight. The pulp is watery with a harmonious taste. The grapes have a beautiful appearance, but they are not suitable for transportation;
  • Dniester pink. The grapes are characterized by vigorous growth, long clusters and coloration of the berries even before they are ripe. This grape variety is considered universal, its bunches have a strong waxy coating and are colored pink, and those berries that have received the best lighting have a dark pink hue. The pulp of the berries is fleshy and juicy with a simple taste. The average weight of a bunch is 250 g. The grapes ripen in late September - early October. It is used for obtaining juice and ordinary wine, as well as for fresh consumption.

Useful properties of grapes

Grapes are a very valuable nutritious product. It contains vitamins A, C, B6 and minerals - calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, selenium, magnesium. Due to the presence of flavonoids, grapes have antioxidant properties that help slow down the aging process of the body.The peel also contains beneficial substances with anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties.

White grape juice is an excellent way to relieve fatigue due to the presence of iron and adds energy to the body. And juice taken in the morning is an effective remedy for migraines.

Eating red grapes is an excellent preventive measure against infection. Wine made from red grapes combined with honey and aloe juice is an ancient way to fight cancer.

All grape varieties have a mild laxative property, which makes it easy to cope with such an unpleasant phenomenon as constipation. In addition, grapes are easily digested by the stomach and quickly absorbed by the body.

Grapes contain a compound called pterostilbene, which has the ability to lower blood cholesterol levels. The grape skin is endowed with the same property due to the presence of saponins in it. Therefore, if you do not suffer from bloating, it is advisable to use grapes with the skin.

Grapes are also useful for diseases such as:

  • asthma. The use of grapes improves the condition of the respiratory system of the body, as well as the lungs in general;
  • heart diseases. Thanks to the property of grapes, such as an increase in nitric oxide in the blood, the formation of clots is prevented, which, in turn, reduces the likelihood of heart attacks;
  • kidney disease. Grapes reduce the acidity of uric acid, neutralize acid throughout the body, which makes it easier for the kidneys.

These are far from all the health and healing properties of grapes. But even those listed above indicate that among all fruits, grapes occupy one of the leading places in terms of their value.
