Growing and storing Chinese cabbage

It is not so difficult to grow Chinese cabbage in a summer cottage. Even novice gardeners can try to do this. Preparing the soil for planting plants must be done in the fall, if necessary, the soil is lime. In the spring, you will have to add nitroamofosk to the soil, about 60 grams per square meter.

Growing Chinese cabbage should be started by sowing seeds directly on the beds where the plant will be grown. Chinese cabbage is very difficult to tolerate the transplanting process. Therefore, seeds are sown in a prepared bed in rows, the distance between which should not be less than 30 cm, the distance between future plants in a row should not be less than 40 cm.

Growing Chinese cabbage may be ineffective if a cruciferous flea attacks the seedlings. To prevent the attack of this aggressor, the beds should be periodically sprinkled with sifted wood ash.

Seedlings emerge quickly, usually 7-10 days. Caring for Chinese cabbage will require keeping the beds clean from weeds and periodically loosening the soil. When the plants reach a suitable size, they should be removed from the garden. With careful care and good watering, cabbage yield can be up to 15 kg per square meter.

The second method, when cabbage is grown by sowing seeds at the beginning of August, can give a higher yield. But this case will require more watering. Before the start of frost, cabbage is removed from the beds with roots, dripped in the cellar into wet sand. Such cabbage is stored very well, you can even make a delicious fresh salad from Chinese cabbage grown with your own hands for the New Year.
