Yucca care at home

One of the unpretentious indoor plants is yucca, which is an evergreen plant of the agave family. A feature of yucca is that it blooms only in natural conditions, but in indoor conditions it is almost impossible to achieve this. If, nevertheless, the yucca blooms, then this means that caring for the yucca at home was ideal.

Since the homeland of yucca is Mexico, which is dominated by an arid climate, it is necessary to create similar conditions for the plant, that is, dry air and a small amount of moisture. You can buy special soil for this exotic plant at any gardening store. When planting a yucca, a thick layer of drainage must be placed on the bottom of the flowerpot.

First of all, it should be noted that caring for yucca at home can be roughly divided into winter and summer. This is due to the fact that from October to February, yucca falls into "hibernation", the so-called state of rest. Therefore, it is necessary to create a reduced temperature for the plant from 8 to 12 degrees, as well as good lighting. Fertilizing the yucca at this time is not recommended. Watering should only be done as needed.

Yucca belongs to large ornamental plants, the height of which can be from 50 centimeters to 2 meters, depending on the species.

In the summer, caring for yucca at home is slightly different from winter. First of all, you need to choose a suitable place for the plant in the house, preferably the south side illuminated by the sun's rays. Watering is necessary only once a week, and fertilization is applied once a month.

The temperature is 8-12 degrees, it's very cold, such a plant is not suitable for those who have warmth in the house, this is perhaps not for a beginner, but only for an experienced florist, everyone else needs to consider other options.
