Hymenokallis care - a flower called "beauty hymn"

The name of the plant "Hymenokallis" is translated from Greek as "hymn to beauty" or "song of beauty". Indeed, if you look at this plant, the first thing that a person is fascinated with is an unusual flower, which is so beautiful that it is often compared with the tenderness and beauty of the bride.

Caring for a hymenokallis is quite simple, but only proper care of it will allow you to admire its unusual umbrella-shaped flowers.

The most important point in caring for this plant is abundant watering during the growing season and its decrease during the dormant period, which lasts depending on the type of hymenocallis, because, for example, in the Caribbean hymenokallis, the dormant period falls in the summer, while in other varieties it is the same with a dormant period of many other indoor plants - in winter. But even during the dormant period, it is advisable to keep the plant in the open air, observing the content in the air temperature that is optimal for it: the growing season is + 18-22 degrees, the dormant period is about + 16 degrees. Does not tolerate heat.

It is impossible to place in direct sunlight, and in general, hymenokallis loves bright diffused light.

Hymenokallis care also includes timely feeding of the plant during the period of active growth and especially flowering - you can use ordinary fertilizers for flowering 1 time every week or the second. During the dormant period, there is no particular need to feed the plant, but once a month it will still be necessary.

The plant is transplanted as needed, and if daughter bulbs have formed, then they must be transplanted into separate pots.
