We carry out the cultivation of maiden grapes according to the rules

For a landscape designer, growing girly grapes is a godsend. It is not only good at decorating various garden objects. It is also a plant that gratefully responds to caring and growth stimulation.

Cultivation of maiden grapes is creativity.

It is a climbing plant with beautiful large foliage. They are usually green in color and take on a beautiful red hue in autumn. It multiplies easily in different ways:

  • winter cuttings;
  • summer cuttings;
  • seeds during stratification (8 weeks);
  • layering.

Cuttings that have one or two internodes should be harvested from adult plants and taken from a leaf node below 1–2 cm. Winter cuttings should be rooted very early in spring. Sand boxes will do, as well as greenhouses or warm greenhouses.

Growing effectively from cut very short one-eyed lengths, an increase from last year. They are planted in pots with their eyes up. Summer seedlings can be carried out. This requires semi-warm greenhouses. This method is appreciated for nearly 100% cuttings. Rooted specimens are planted in a nursery, where the vine is grown for 1-2 years.

For the branching method, in the spring, the workpieces are pinned to the ground. Roots should soon form at the nodes. It is this technology that is suitable if you need to carry out ground cover gardening. They will need support, but only in the first year of life. Also in winter they need to be sheltered from the cold. Do not forget to keep track of how the vine grows. Dying and fallen leaves in such conditions can ruin all work. So the cultivation of maiden grapes is carried out.
