"Bartzella" peony

"Bartzella" peony is a hybrid plant bred in 1986 in the USA. The author of the variety is Anderson Roger F. "Bartzella" peony is an interspecific hybrid cultivar obtained by crossing a tree-like and herbaceous peony. The peony bush is powerful, reaching a height of 75 to 90 centimeters.

This variety is very luxurious, one of the most beautiful plants in the yellow peonies group. "Bartzella" peony is a mid-late flowering cultivar.

The stems and peduncles of the peony are very stable. They do not require support, thanks to which the bush retains its natural shape and does not collapse under the weight of large flowers. Peony "Bartzella" has beautiful finely cut leathery foliage. In the peony, the foliage remains attractive throughout the season.

"Bartzella" peony is a light-loving plant, it loves illuminated places. Peony tolerates the cold season well, it is frost-hardy. It is preferable to plant peonies in a sunny place, without stagnant water. For its feeding, ash, compost and complex mineral fertilizers are used. No special care is needed for this peony - care is the same as for herbaceous peonies.

The flowers of the plant are double, bright yellow with scarlet-red strokes at the base of the petals. The flowers have a lemon scent. The diameter of the flowers is about 25 centimeters. On adult bushes, there can be quite a few flowers, up to several dozen. The flowers are high above the foliage and look great. Flowering is long, long. Re-flowering is common. Thanks to the side buds of the peony, flowering lasts more than three weeks.
