Kalina in the photo

Kalina is a shrub that from time immemorial has been famous not only for its incredible beauty, but also for its medicinal and cosmetic properties.
Since ancient times, Kalina has been recognized as the standard of female beauty, innocence and inaccessibility, which can be easily explained by the presence of delicate, exquisite white flowers during flowering. Many photographers cannot resist the beauty of a plant and not capture it in photographs.
The flowering period of the plant falls on the month of May - June. Viburnum flowers are distinguished by their shade tolerance and unpretentiousness, and therefore, they are often decorated with gardens and park areas.
The plant propagates by means of bush division, root suckers, cuttings, as well as overgrowth. It is not worth propagating the viburnum with seeds, since the germination of the seed can take two years. But since it is decided to grow a shrub from a seed, then it should be stratified in stages at alternating temperatures.
The most favorable period for planting viburnum is the autumn and spring seasons. A planting pit is prepared, deepened by 40-45 cm and wood ash and humus are added to it, then everything is mixed with the top layer. The root collar of the seedling should be placed vertically and then deepened by 4-6 cm.the completion of planting - abundant watering, compaction of the land cover, peat mulching by 10-12 cm.
The soil is dug up every 3 years with renewal of the mulch layer.
In order for the viburnum to bear fruit well every year, the plant should be fed with potassium, phosphorus and nitroammophos. For rejuvenation, old branches of the plant should be removed.
The plant bears fruit in August - September. The fruit of the viburnum is bright red juicy bone spherical berries. The berry tastes bitter and tart, but after frost the bitterness disappears.
