Dubrovnik ordinary - a beautiful stranger in the garden

Plants, like people, it happens that they are relatives by blood, but they do not look alike at all. For example, a vast family of plants - lamb. It is so diverse in its congeners that many remain a mystery even for amateur gardeners. In this common family, where the familiar mint, basil, sage and other plants come from, there is Dubrovnik ordinary. Even for experienced gardeners, this shrub is a stranger.

The Dubrovnik genus has more than 300 varieties, which are widespread in warm climates and in the temperate zone. These are annual and perennial grasses, shrubs and shrubs. In the wild, Dubrovniks are found to be widespread. But in gardening, they are somehow not very well known. But these plants, I think, will soon become favorite for decorating the landscape and just for the soul.

Among the entire large family of dubrovniks, the common dubrovnik is the most common. It is a semi-shrub that grows up to 40 centimeters in height. Its leaves are dark green in color, grow up to 4 centimeters in length. Bracts have a more delicate shade of green, and often with a lilac tint. Dubrovnik flowers are two-lipped and collected in a paniculate inflorescence. By the way, the color of the Dubrovnik flowers is very diverse - from almost white to dark purple.

This plant loves rather warm winters; in the cold season, the Dubrovnik can freeze out. Therefore, when grown in regions with cold winters, it should be covered with spruce branches, for example.

Dubrovniki are very ornamental plants with a number of medicinal properties. Therefore, they are worthy of the attention of gardeners.
