Seed or onion seedling

Onions are planted in almost every garden, summer cottage, they like to eat it green or onions, without it, many dishes will lose their peculiarity of taste, they are used fried, fresh, boiled and dried, onions are extremely useful for the human body and are widely used in folk medicine.

Suitable for growing onions: seeds, onions, seedlings, seedlings.

Planting seeds is a slow way to grow onions. Onion seeds are small enough and saturated with the oil that gives a special onion smell and taste, but it is this oil that slows down the emergence of seedlings due to poor moisture absorption by the seeds. It is very rare to get large onions in the year of sowing; more often, small or medium onions are obtained. The onions should be planted early, fed and watered on time, and the weeds should be removed. Most often, a seedling onion is grown from seeds, which is planted not the next year and large bulbs are obtained. Since onions from seeds grow slowly, the bulbs begin to thicken only at the end of summer, therefore, if possible, seeds should be planted very early under agrofibre, film or in a greenhouse.

Or choose the second method of growing - through seedlings. In this case, the seeds should be planted in cassettes, special pots with at least 8 cm depth, only the most powerful and large seedlings are chosen for planting, which are planted in a row every 10 cm.

Seedling onions are the safest and fastest way to get large bulbs in the same year. The seedling should be planted under agrofibre in the ground as soon as the snow melts. The seedling does well at moderate spring temperatures, is less capricious than seeds, is more adapted to survival and is not demanding on the soil. It is necessary to water, feed and loosen the soil at the planting site of the seedling during the time. When arrows appear, they must be broken off so that the bulb does not bloom. When the feather lies down, the onion should be dug up and dried.
