The thornless blackberry belongs to the raspberry genus, from the Rosaceae family. Blackberries have a lot of advantages:

  • she perfectly tolerates transportation;
  • has a strong drought resistance;
  • spring frosts rarely damage it.

Blackberries can be planted on any soil, in a sunny place that is not blown out. Better to plant in spring, as it does not have strong frost resistance.

Thornless blackberry is a storehouse of useful microelements, substances and vitamins, so its berries are useful for everyone, especially those with weak immunity, weakened body, there are problems with blood, joints and other problems.

The blackberry bush itself is very decorative, at the beginning of summer it is strewn with white or pale pink large flowers, and at the end of summer it is hung with black shiny berries.

When planting bushes, you need to maintain a distance of two meters between the bushes, but more than two meters between the rows. The pits for planting should have dimensions of 40 * 40; each must be filled with up to six kg of compost or humus, about 50 grams of potassium salt and 150 grams of superphosphate. If all the ingredients were added before planting, then for the next couple of years only nitrogen fertilizers need to be applied. Later, it is necessary to apply under each bush about 8 kg of humus, 100 grams of superphosphate and 30 grams of potash fertilizers every year. To love blackberries, so that their roots are mulched, and the whips are tied to the trellises. Water the blackberries once a week, or more often if the weather is very hot.

The fruits are harvested from the end of June to October, it all depends on the weather and the variety of blackberries. The berries can be stored in the refrigerator for about ten days.

Besshorny blackberries need to be covered for the winter: tie the shoots, bend them to the ground and pin them there, and put dry sawdust, leaves, peat on top, or use agrofibre.

After removing the shelter, in the spring, weak, damaged and diseased shoots are cut out, leaving not about five good healthy shoots.
