Sage medicinal. Benefits and Applications

Quite a lot of sage grows on our planet, but not all of them have the properties necessary and valuable for humans. Some species are completely inconspicuous, others can be used as ornamental plants in gardens and flower beds. We all know and the most common - field sage, which is also popularly called cornflower. In medical practice, medicinal sage is most often used. This herb is rich in various useful substances, such as: essential oils, organic acids, tannins, flavanoids, phytoncides, camphor, B vitamins and much more.
    
External signs of medicinal sage:

growth - 50-70 centimeters;
woody root and lower stem;
oblong wrinkled woolly leaves;
several large blue (pink-white or purple) flowers on each stem.
 
When rubbed, the herb has a rather strong odor, aromatic, with a spicy aftertaste. Sage is mainly a thermophilic plant, as it is native to the Mediterranean. But if you wish, you can really grow it on your site. The cultivated plant has a full range of medicinal substances. It has anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties, knits blood and disinfects. Sage tea has a calming effect and improves the functioning of the digestive system. It is also used as a means of inhibiting lactation in mothers who, for some reason, decided to abruptly interrupt breastfeeding. It also reduces sweating.

In some recipes, sage can be found as a culinary condiment.
