Breeding violets at home

Many of those who decide to engage in home floriculture begin their acquaintance with indoor plants with violets. Someone learns to communicate with these plants, and then give preference to others, and someone will forever be a connoisseur of violets.

Breeding violets at home, in principle, is not a very burdensome task, but still some subtleties and difficulties exist.

Violets reproduce even if one single leaf remains from the plant. The leaves very well and quickly give their own roots, and then a new rosette is formed around.

Therefore, it is up to you to decide what to buy - a ready-made outlet or a leaf. Of course, the blooming of a violet from a leaf will have to wait much longer than an adult outlet.

If you give preference to leaf propagation, then choose a leaf that grows in the middle of the outlet. The leaf should be intact, you should not be afraid of small leaves, they give children even better than large leaves.

Breeding violets with leaves can be done in two ways: by placing the leaf in water or immediately planting it in prepared soil. The second method is often better, because it will not be necessary to injure the delicate roots during transplantation.

Before planting a leaf in the ground, hold its petiole for some time in a preparation for better root formation, for example, in "Kornevin".

When children appear from a violet leaf, they need to be seated in a timely manner. It is recommended to plant children in separate containers, the leaves of which do not exceed 2 cm in diameter. If you are late with seating, it will be impossible to separate the outlet later.

I heard such a saying that violets grow only in "certain people-flower growers". Type, with a special character and approach to plants. Several times we tried to grow violets, and each time this venture ended in failure. ..
